The differential system comes completely revised and overhauled from
MTPO, bringing for the first time ever in FiveM, live, proper drifting.
There is no need for drift handlings, or settings.
C.H.A.S.E.R New differential system brings the proper simulation of a L.S.D
(Limited Slip Differential) causing both vehicle wheels to lockup and use
the power when needed, effectively.
The new differential system, patches the game's natural attempt of
ceasing any drift or powersliding attempt by cutting off the gas, and
instead allows for a slide to happen.
Not only that, but also calculates how the forces should act properly in the
vehicle, and applies the effects, causing each vehicle reaction when
drifting to be unique to its characteristics, such as suspension tweaking,
max steering angle and center of mass
The way the power is sent is considered on our drifting system, so RWD and
AWD vehicles will behave differently when drifting.
On the rear wheel drive vehicles, players will need to use countersteer and
other proper RWD drifting techniques, as the engine power is sent through
the rear wheels, causing the tail to slide.
All wheel drive vehicles, will need to steer where they want to go, using the
throttle to control the slide, and factoring in how the torque is split across
the two drivetrains, a vehicle with a 35% Front and 65% Rear torque
distribution will drift completely differently from a vehicle which possess a
50/50 distribution.
The engine power is factored in on the drifting, so the more powerful your
vehicle is, the easier it will be to drift. Low Powered vehicles might have
difficulties to drift in sunny conditions, or when using high-performance
tires, but may find it easy to do so, when it is raining.
The C.H.A.S.E.R drifting system communicates with the Rev Limiter system,
and thus, the rev limiter will be faster or slower, depending on how much
traction you have.
Differentials can also have their lock % tweaked, whereas the higher it is,
the easier it will be for it to lock.
You can initialize a drift by using your preferred method, or whatever suits
your vehicle the most either being E-Brake, Weight Transfer, Clutch Kicking,
and more.
All new features for the differential system are grounded in reality and aim
to provide an enjoyable, unique, experience for players.
C.H.A.S.E.R is the first system to include weight as a factor into the vehicle
performance, introducing Power To Weight ratio to the game.
Heavy vehicles with light vehicle engines will be slow
Powerful engines on light vehicles will be fast
A Simple yet effective system into further providing realism and
uniqueness to vehicles.
C.H.A.S.E.R also brings engine swaps as a possibility. Players can create
their own engine profiles and store them into a file, which the script will
read and can use to swap the vehicle engine, changing it’s performance,
sound and power to weight profile, you can use this to make the vehicle
faster or slower, possibilities are limitless.
On top of that, accurate fitment measuring is also something that can be
optionally calculated, where C.H.A.S.E.R will calculate if an engine fits, given
the 3d model dimensions, allowing for further realism into your game.
Or you can opt out of it, for an arcadeish fun experience.
